In March 2026, students from Queen Mary's College will be taking part in a Global Citizenship Programme in Cambodia.
Working in partnership with the FutureSense Foundation, the students will spend time with rural communities, supporting education, health, and livelihoods initiatives that make a real difference to people’s lives.

This is more than a trip - it’s a chance for the students to grow as individuals, while helping others build better futures.

About FutureSense Foundation
The FutureSense Foundation is a grassroots, international development charity guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With teams based year-round in Cambodia, India, Nepal, Peru, Panama, Tanzania, and Thailand, they work hand-in-hand with trusted local partners to tackle community needs in areas.

Across Sub-Saharan Africa, 1 in 10 girls miss school during their period.
Why? Because schools lack the basic sanitation facilities, they need to manage their menstruation with safety and privacy.
That’s up to 20% of the school year lost because there’s nowhere safe to go to the toilet. The consequences don’t stop there:
And when girls drop out, the effects ripple across communities: reduced economic, independence, poor health outcomes, and cycles of poverty that are harder to break.

With your help, we’ll build 22 clean, private, and secure toilet blocks, complete with handwashing stations at our partner school in Tanzania. These facilities will:
Provide dignity and privacy during menstruation
Reduce school absences
Improve health outcomes
Empower girls to stay in school e understand the importance of having a safe and stable place to call home. That's why we offer housing support services, including rental assistance and temporary shelter for those experiencing homelessness.
